🖤 About Us
Justice for Black Startups is a national movement demanding equal access to funding, opportunity, and protection for Black founders in the startup ecosystem. Rooted in truth and backed by lived experience, our mission is to expose systemic bias, hold public institutions accountable, and ensure that no founder is denied a future because of the color of their skin.
Why We Exist
Despite being some of the most innovative entrepreneurs in America, Black startup founders receive a shockingly low share of venture capital and government-backed funding—often less than 2%. When Black founders speak out or file complaints, they are often ignored, dismissed, or targeted. We are here to change that.
Our Story
This movement was born from one founder’s fight: Michael Allen, who faced repeated denials, discrimination, and harassment after launching his tech company, Ufora Inc. Despite meeting qualifications for funding programs, Allen was met with silence, bias, and retaliation—while other startups received millions. When he filed complaints with federal and state agencies, including the FBI and DOJ, his concerns were ignored, putting his life, livelihood, and legacy at risk.
His case is not an isolated incident. It’s a wake-up call.
What We Fight For
- ✅ Equal Access to Capital for Black founders
- ✅ Transparency and Accountability in government funding programs
- ✅ Federal Investigation into systemic funding bias
- ✅ Protection and Action when discrimination and harassment are reported
- ✅ Policy Reform to end race-based funding disparities
Join the Movement
We’re not just fighting for one case — we’re fighting for every Black startup that’s been ignored, underfunded, or silenced. Your voice matters. Your story matters. Together, we’ll turn injustice into change.
